I had the loveliest time carrying out some family photography in Bristol recently. I was commissioned by a professional photographer who lives in Bournemouth to photograph her family. She came up to Bristol with her beautiful boys. This was my first time meeting her youngest as I had photographed her oldest boy a couple of years earlier. It’s always so lovely to photograph a growing family. As a photographer you connect with your clients and form a relationship over the years – this part of my job I absolutely love!
I always have fun with my clients when I photograph. It’s very important to be able to put children at ease so that you can get the very best out of them. With very young children this involves getting into their imagination and playing games. An element of trust is really important and so I don’t take the camera out straight away when I photograph – I like them to get to know me a little first and see my face – rather than a big black camera.
Here are a couple of images of the whole family. Aren’t they just the most beautiful family?! And the children?! Absolutely adorable in every way! Be sure to scroll down to see these images.
I’ll do another blog post of some images of these gorgeous children on their own. Having professional photographic memories of your children and family is really important. I *always* commission a professional photographer to photograph me and my family. I want to exist in the photographs too as otherwise I am always behind the camera! To me you can’t beat the investment. Family photographs become legacies. For you, your children and for their families when they are older.
